Road To Reconcile

THE STORY

Road To Reconcile follows a group of U.S. veterans who return to Vietnam not to escape the past, but to confront what the war left behind.

Filmed over three years in Quang Tri Province and throughout the former demilitarized zone, the film travels along what locals call “The Road of No Joy” — a landscape still marked by the violence, memory, and unexploded ordnance of a war officially over for decades. In one of the most heavily bombed regions on earth, former soldiers, peace activists, and Vietnamese partners work together to clear the remnants of conflict and face the human cost that remains beneath the surface.

More than a story about veterans returning to Vietnam, Road To Reconcile is a portrait of former enemies bound together by consequence. It follows the intimate and complicated work of repair between nations, between communities, and within the people still carrying the war inside them.
